Raymond D. Cotton will be speaking at the “Advancing to the Presidency” workshop presented by American Council on Education (ACE).

Mr. Cotton’s presentation, “Reaching an Agreement: Making the Right Choice and Negotiating that Contract,” will address the need for an employment agreement that is fair to the president, the key elements of the contract, the negotiation process, and how to obtain an excellent package, foster positive relations with a governing board, and avoid contract-related controversies.

The ACE workshop is designed specifically for senior administrators who will be seeking a presidency within the next 2 years. The two-day workshop will focus on developing an effective presidential search strategy, gaining a better understanding of the search process, interview and CV/resume critiques and successful transition strategies. The workshop is being held October 10-11 in Washington, D.C.
